The Magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Sheri Autry at Couture Fashion Week NY

Sheri Autry will present her Spring/Summer 2019 collection, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” at Couture Fashion Week on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 4:00 pm. Marking the designer’s second appearance at the prestigious event, the runway show will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, 1605 Broadway, New York City.

Sheri Autry has been sewing for over 20 years, learning from her grandmother at the age of 10. Today, Sheri fashions stunning collections of couture gowns and lingerie crafted from the finest imported silks, laces, and illusion fabrics enhanced by unique, one-of-a-kind, embellishments. She has been a featured designer at the International Couture Presentation (ICP), several Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD area bridal expo shows, and most recently at the Couture Fashion Week show during New York Fashion Week in September 2017. Her fashions have recently been worn by local celebrities including Miss Maryland 2018, Adrianna David, and have been featured in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine, Most Magazine, Munaluchi Bridal Magazine, Shutter Magazine, Elegant Magazine, Style Me Pretty Blog, South Asian Bride Magazine, Valley Bride Magazine, Virginia Bride Magazine, and Editorial Magazine.

After a successful NYFW debut last year, Sheri has returned to present her new collection of high fashion evening gowns as well as a few new bridal gowns. In this collection, like her past collections, Sheri has put her main focus on the fine details of each dress with lots of hand beading, hand cut flowers, individually placed feathers, and hand applied Swarovski crystals. In addition, Sheri has added a special detail to a couple of the dresses to be revealed to the audience at the show. The additional detail she has incorporated this season is sure to light up the runway…. be there to see it in person!

Designer Ellen Wise will present the latest collection for her signature label on the runway at Couture Fashion Week New York on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, 1605 Broadway, New York City.

Ellen Wise Couture is a California couturier who brings her vision to the timeless art of custom couture. Each garment is designed and handcrafted to each client’s form using only the highest quality natural fiber fabrics. Often termed ‘Slow Fashion’, Ellen Wise garments are ageless creations of unmistakable grace and elegance.

It is the fusion of art, science and a discerning eye that enable Ellen to visualize and ultimately create each finished piece. Her focus on magnifying femininity by shaping the finest materials to develop line and form while adhering to the strict rules of true couture has never been more apparent than with her latest work. Drawing inspiration from the exquisite fabrics she’s selected, Ellen designed her newest collection using the moulage method, in which patterns are draped and perfected on the dress form.

Ellen’s formal couture training includes intensive study with well-known couturière, author, and teacher Susan Khalje. Ellen also studied extensively with Parisian master draper and pattern maker, Julien Cristofoli.

New Miuz Designer Pawan Kumar Returns to Couture Fashion Week NY with Innovative Midnight Blues Collection

Designer Pawan Kumar will debut his New Miuz Spring/Summer 2019 collection, “Midnight Blues,” in a Couture Fashion Week New York showcase on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, 1605 Broadway, Manhattan.

Following New Miuz’s successful debut at Couture Fashion Week in 2016, Pawan returns this season with a highly-anticipated line of evening wear inspired by the tropical island nights of Mauritius. Known for feminine silhouettes and luxurious fabrics, he has broken new ground with this collection by featuring sustainable and eco-friendly denim in sophisticated, clean, and elevated designs.

Pawan, an award-winning fashion innovator with an extensive background in textile technology, was Mauritius’ first designer to be featured in New York Fashion Week. The designer drew this season’s inspiration from his native country, explaining, “There is nothing more soothing than to lay in a hammock at night and watch the deep blue sky in Mauritius.” Elegant, feminine and alluring, the colors and shades of the collection reflect the night sky, while the fabrics, cuts and silhouettes draw inspiration from that serene and calm feeling.

The collection takes denim and turns it on its head, from an everyday material to something exquisite, precious and high-end. With the addition of pearls and stardust to add glamour, the collection is ultra-feminine and highly sophisticated. Designed to enhance the female form, each sustainable couture garment captures the identity of the young uptown woman. With hand-made plissé fabric, and original patterns developed from scratch, all garments are hand dyed and hand stitched, of striking quality and unique design.

The environmentally responsible denim garments used in Pawan’s “Midnight Blues” collection were created utilizing laser technology of Jeanologia, Spain and produced at SaitexVietnam using TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™ Lyocell, among of the most sustainable fibers in the world. Cotton scraps upcycled from garment production and wood pulp harvested from responsibly managed farms are transformed into new virgin fibers through Lenzing’s environmental award-winning TENCEL™ closed-loop lyocell production process. The fabrics are woven by textile mills worldwide including Santanderina, Blue Diamond, Prosperity, Cone and Tintex, whose fabrics are used in this collection. In addition to their botanic origins, TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™ Lyocell fibers live up to circular economy expectations as they are fully compostable and biodegradable in both soil and water at the end of their useful life.

About the designer. Inspired by the tropical beauty of his native island of Mauritius and steeped in global culture, Pawan Kumar brings a unique blend of creativity, innovation, and technical expertise to his label New Miuz. His elegant designs explore themes of the natural world, multiculturalism, feminine sophistication, and opulence. A rising international fashion design star, he made his debut at Dubai Fashion Week in 2015, where he was awarded “Designer of the Year,” for a vibrant collection of lush, couture gowns with hand-finished embellishments. He studied textile and fashion design at the University of Mauritius in Moka and joined the multinational design studio, Ciel, following graduation. His global success as the first Mauritian designer to present collections in Dubai and New York fashion weeks has made him an influential fashion leader and noted public figure in the island nation’s emerging economy. Flawless Designs by JAL Fashion at the Cannes GSF Awards Gala and Luxury Fashion Shows

Award-winning designer Chirawan Lewis will present the latest designs for her JAL Fashion label during the Cannes Global Short Film Awards Gala and Luxury Fashion Shows event on May 19, 2018. Part of the third annual edition of the prestigious event, the gala will be held at the iconic Intercontinental Carlton Cannes in Cannes, France.

Chirawan Lewis has been creating exquisite designs for her JAL Fashion label since 2013 . Her latest collection is entitled “Siam International” and features the beauty, tradition and colors of her native Thailand, for which she is known.

“As a young designer I try to create flawless pieces that can be worn for special and important occasions,” says Ms. Lewis.

JAL Fashion designs have been featured in prominent TV programs, Thai publications and on social media. JAL received an ASEAN AWARD in 2015 and the New Award in 2016. JAL’s clientele includes Miss Thailand, Thai movie stars, celebrities and many business leaders in Thailand and England.

Top New York Designer and Artist Alexandra Popescu-York Launches ‘Magnetic’ Collection at Couture Fashion Week NY

Top New York designer and artist Alexandra Popescu-York returns to the 27th season of Couture Fashion Week New York with the launch of “Magnetic,” her newest luxury dress capsule collection. Marking the Ms. Popescu-York’s ninth consecutive season showing at the prestigious event, the fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday February 10, 2018 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan.

Sumbul’s Floral-Inspired Collection at Couture Fashion Week NY

New Jersey-based designer Sumbul will present her latest impeccably crafted collection during the upcoming 27th season of Couture Fashion Week New York. The fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday February 10, 2018 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan at the Crossroads of the World.

Sumbul launched “Sumbul’s Collection” in 2011. Malaysian Design Stars Eja Shahril Bring Tun Teja Collection to Couture Fashion Week

Rising Malaysian design stars Eja and Shahril will present their latest collection entitled “Tun Teja” at Couture Fashion Week New York’s 26th season. Marking the label’s first appearance at the prestigious fashion week event, the highly anticipated fashion show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday September 8, 2017 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan in New York City.

In calling this collection “Tun Teja” the design team of Eja and Shahril are striving to represent the Muslim design community, modest fashion design and the country of Malaysia to the world. The two young designers are a married couple from Pahang, Kuala Lipis Pinang Island. Since the concept of modest fashion is not well-known in the western fashion industry, Eja and Shahril have made this collection with a wide appeal, modest yet suitable for all women. They have shown their designs at important fashion events including the International Indonesia Muslim Festival, Kuala Lumpur Islamic Fashion and many more international stages.

The theme of this collection, “Tun Teja,” is inspired by a famous heroine of Malaysian legend. With their showing in New York, Eja and Sharil hope to raise awareness of this Malaysia legend and to introduce the dignity and majesty of Muslim Fashion internationally. The show will include a special appearance by Mira Filzah, the famous Malaysian actress, model, host and entrepreneur. She is well-known in Malaysia for her roles in popular TV dramas including Dunia Lola and Cinta Si Wedding Planner, as well as the recent launch of her own brand of organic skin care products and her designs of shawls and hijabs. Mira was listed as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs 2016 by Entrepreneur Insight, Malaysia, and currently has more than 2.2 million followers on Instagram.

Katha Productions Presents LeViCo at Couture Fashion Week

Prominent Indonesian fashion brand JSL LeViCo will showcase a collection of handcrafted masterpiece designs during the next Couture Fashion Week New York. Presented by Katha Productions, the collection is entitled “The Secret Journey to East Nusa Tanggara.” The fashion show will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday September 10, 2017 in the Broadway Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in New York City.

East Nusa Tenggara is located in Southeast Indonesia and consists of almost 600 beautiful and remote islands. The exquisite hand woven fabrics from the region feature a diverse array of colors, textures, embellishments and inspirations – from myths of the ancestors to animals, plants and other natural elements, as well as abstract designs.

Julie Sutrisno Laiskodat, designer and CEO of the House of LeViCo, has devoted herself to the promotion of her tribe’s culture to help ensure their future in East Nusa Tenggara. She believes that women play invaluable roles, not only in molding families, but also in developing and improving society as a whole. The designs for the collection “The Secret Journey to East Nusa Tanggara,” are made from the dreams of the women weavers for their children’s future.

The show director is Kanaya Tabitha, Director of Katha Productions. Ms. Tabitha is a fashion designer, social activist and founder of Rumah Pandai (“Covenant of Love”) Foundation. She formed the group to boost women’s empowerment in East Nusa Tenggara through the promotion of fabric weaving, arts and other crafts in cooperation with JSL LeViCo. Its mission is to help provide better education, life and opportunities for young women.

Rumah Pandai and the House of LeViCo have cooperated to form a weaving cooperative. Through this initiative, South Timor Tengah women are trained to produce high-quality woven fabrics. Faced with the challenges of sparse agricultural fields, limited income potential and an ongoing threat of wildlife damage to existing crops, the women’s weaving group sought opportunities to generate income and gain self-sufficiency. Lacking the necessary startup funding for a weaving center, they reached out to Rumah Pandai, and with the Foundation’s support, the Covenant of Love Weaving Centre was established. The Centre is now working to expand their projects, producing greater amounts of high-quality fashion items which appeal to the domestic and international fashion markets. The Centre has been working with the House of LeViCo for over 2 years, benefiting from the prestigious label’s experience in the fashion industry.

Through the support of Rumah Pandai and LeViCo, these extraordinarily gifted weavers are preserving their timeless traditions and cultural heritage, passing them on to the upcoming generations. LeViCo has presented its collections at prestigious fashion events including New York Fashion Week, Indonesia Fashion, Jakarta Fashion Week and more.

Fashion and Art Come to Life in Designs by Erma Fatima

Top Malaysian designer Erma Fatima will show her latest designs during Couture Fashion Week New York’s upcoming season. Marking the designer’s first appearance at the prestigious event, the fashion show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday September 8, 2017 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square, in the heart of the Big Apple.

Erma Fatima began her career as an actress, and went on to become a movie director, script writer and producer. She has won several awards for Best Actress and Best Director. In 2015 she expanded her horizons and ventured into fashion design. Her undying passion for ‘ARTS’ drives her creative expression through her fashion line. Fashion is all about expressing and creating one’s identity. Seeing people decked out in her creations inspires Ms. Fatima to soar to ever greater heights. Her label, Mak Cun by Erma Fatima, is a manifestation of ‘ARTS’ in the form of fashion. Ms. Fatima’s concept of modest fashion is a combination of modern and traditional design. She started designing for herself and for fun, and now wants to share her collection with the world.

Erma Fatima’s concept of collection is traditional contemporary. She loves to include a traditional touch in her work combining modern and traditional fabrics into her line. Each piece has traditional feel that portrays her passion and classic expression in a form of modern ‘kebaya’.

Ms. Fatima has shown her beautiful creations at numerous important fashion events including Asian Islamic Fashion Week (Kuala Lumpur, 2016), Torino Fashion Week (Italy, 2017), and at an upcoming event in Beverly Hills, CA in December 2017.
