Marcello Costa to be Honored at GSF Awards Gala in Cannes for Outstanding Hair and Makeup Design in Fashion and Film

Brazilian-born New York-based celebrity hair and makeup artist Marcello Costa will be honored at the Global Short Film Awards Gala on May 19, 2018 at the Intercontinental Carlton Cannes, in Cannes, France.

Marcello Costa’s name and work is associated with many prestigious events including the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Tony Awards, Golden Globe Awards and the Cannes Film Festival. His creative work can be seen on many top fashion week runways, from Milan to New York and Paris, as well as at Couture Fashion Week New York. He has worked with major fashion brands including Dolce & Gabanna, Cavalli, Versace, Armani, Tom Ford, Moschino, Victoria’s Secert and Andres Aquino.

In the entertainment world, Mr. Costa has worked with such celebrities as Priyanka Chopra, Stevie Wonder, Angela Basset, Terri McMillan, Oprah Winfrey, Alfred Woodard, Brandy, Coco, Queen Latifah, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Alicia Keyes and Mariah Carey. Flawless Designs by JAL Fashion at the Cannes GSF Awards Gala and Luxury Fashion Shows

Award-winning designer Chirawan Lewis will present the latest designs for her JAL Fashion label during the Cannes Global Short Film Awards Gala and Luxury Fashion Shows event on May 19, 2018. Part of the third annual edition of the prestigious event, the gala will be held at the iconic Intercontinental Carlton Cannes in Cannes, France.

Chirawan Lewis has been creating exquisite designs for her JAL Fashion label since 2013 . Her latest collection is entitled “Siam International” and features the beauty, tradition and colors of her native Thailand, for which she is known.

“As a young designer I try to create flawless pieces that can be worn for special and important occasions,” says Ms. Lewis.

JAL Fashion designs have been featured in prominent TV programs, Thai publications and on social media. JAL received an ASEAN AWARD in 2015 and the New Award in 2016. JAL’s clientele includes Miss Thailand, Thai movie stars, celebrities and many business leaders in Thailand and England.

Soprano Valeria Florencio at the Cannes Fashion and Global Short Film Awards Gala

World-renowned French soprano Valeria Florencio will perform at the upcoming Cannes Fashion and Global Short Film Awards Gala in Cannes, France. The event will be held on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the iconic Intercontinental Carlton Cannes.

Valeria Florencio studied voice and theater with a number of great masters of lyrical art, including Lauren Nubbar at the famed Juilliard School in New York. Her critically acclaimed performances have included concerts and recitals at concert halls and theaters in France and abroad including Halle aux grains, Capitole, Zénith de Toulouse, Rhine Opera House, theaters of Marrakech, Rabat and Casablanca accompanied by the Moroccan Philharmonic, and numerous prestigious international festivals and TV programs. She has appeared with such luminaries as conductors Yehudi Menuhin, Alberto Zedda, Valery Gergiev as well as theatrical director Georges Lavaudant, and has also performed for Monaco’s royal family. In addition to her performing schedule, Ms. Florencio is also a music therapist and a UN Ambassador for the NGO Martial Art Academy based in France.

Angelique Monet Set to Perform at Cannes Fashion and Global Short Film Awards Gala

Princess Angelique Monet is one of the world-class entertainers scheduled to perform at the upcoming Cannes Fashion and Global Short Film Awards Gala. The event will be held on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the iconic Intercontinental Carlton Cannes in Cannes, France. She will be performing with Dr. Raghunath Manet, the renowned classical Indian musician and dancer, and Chevalier Award recipient.

Princess Angelique Monet is an American multi-media talent, former Ms. Black South Carolina USA and the owner and CEO of Greta Joanne Entertainment. She is also a stage actress and ventriloquist. In 2001 she appeared Off-Broadway on Theater Row with her one-woman show Multiple Me written by Edgar Chisholm. In November 2017 she will return to Off-Broadway with the opening of a Vaudeville thematic production. She is recognized for her role in changing modern day ventriloquism in A History of Modern Day Ventriloquism. Angelique Monet is also a singer, pianist and composer who has an album on iTunes entitled Not Wasting Time, as well as a film producer, writer and director. She made her directorial debut with the short film BitterSweet, which screened at the Cannes International Film Festival Short Film Corner (SFC) in 2005. Her feature film, Deceptive, premiered at the Marche du Film during the Cannes International Film Festival Festival in 2010. She had a theatrical release through her own releasing company at Big Cinema in New York City.

Angelique Monet has a five octave vocal range, multiple ventriloquist figures and voices, and has opened for prominent entertainers including Sinbad, Brian McKnight, and more. She performs in multiple genres including Jazz, R&B, Classical, Pop, Electronica, New Age, and World Music.

As a public speaker, Angelique Monet has addressed the African Union Headquarters in New York City, the United Nations, and numerous schools, universities, and churches. She has appeared on panels with diplomats, celebrities, politicians, and humanitarians. Her themes include world peace relations, indigenous preservation, self esteem, women’s empowerment, and her own experience with autism when, unable to speak, she was able to use music to open her mind, and the ancient art of ventriloquism to find her voice. Princess Monet is also the recipient of numerous humanitarian accolades including the Global Icon Ladies Award, Afrique 360 Humanitarian and Contribution to Arts award. Princess Angelique Monet is a Knight of the Order of Sylvester and a Dame in the OSJ Order of Malta, and the Masonic-affiliated ladies auxiliary groups the Order of the Amaranth and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Artist Kevin Berlin’s New York Top Hats to Shine at GSF Awards Gala in Cannes

Internationally renowned artist Kevin Berlin will show original, artist-designed luxury top hats during the Global Short Film Awards Gala in Cannes, France. Several hats will be worn by models as part of the Andres Aquino couture fashion show at the event on Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Intercontinental Carlton Cannes. The gala evening program will include a red carpet, fashion shows, awards presentations, world-class entertainment and auction. Tickets are available online.

Eric Abidal To Attend Global Short Film Awards Gala in Cannes

In partnership with Karmaloog, the upcoming Global Short Film Awards gala to be held in Cannes, France will include a luxury auction with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Eric Abidal Foundation. The festive event will be held on Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Intercontinental Carlton Cannes. Eric Abidal is expected to attend the event as a special guest. He is a renowned footballer who played for Lyon and Barcelona during his stellar career, part of the teams that won 21 major titles including two Champions League trophies. The Eric Abidal Foundation, based in Barcelona, strives to improve lives, especially for people suffering from cancer or at risk of social exclusion, and has a special focus on sports and football activities.
