Designer Lainy Gold Returns to Couture Fashion Week with Tribal Earth Collection

In her second appearance at Couture Fashion Week New York, designer Lainy Gold will show her latest collection at 8:00 pm on Sunday September 13, 2015. Part of the 22nd season of the prestigious event, the fashion show will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, in the heart of New York City.

Lainy Gold’s new collection is entitled “Tribal Earth”, filled with reflections of nature and celebrating the body. Included are swimwear designs, coverup dresses as well as some menswear. Notable features are Aztec prints along with denims and natural fabrics like cottons and linens. The presentation of the collection will include hand made jewelry also created by Lainy Gold, as well as distinctive headdresses, celebrating the designer’s vision of nature in its rawest, truest form.

“My inspiration for this collection came from a piece of music I stumbled upon that had tribal drum beats throughout,” says Ms. Gold. “This will be a show filled with my vision that came from this music.. It’s strong, powerful, sensual and emotional.”

A native of Canada with a French mother and British father, Lainy Gold started designing at a young age, and went on to be a model for 15 years, surrounded by designers, immersed in the fashion world of showrooms, fittings and photo shoots. She presented her inaugural collection at Atlantic City Fashion Week, and has experience designing menswear, swimwear, children’s fashions, bridal designs, accessories and headpieces, as well as competitive dance outfits, along with her distinctive womenswear designs.

In addition to being a talented fashion designer, Lainy Gold is also an accomplished photographer and actress. Her photographic work has appeared in numerous print magazines and calendars. As an actress, she has appeared in such TV shows as Law and Order, Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods and films including New Year’s Eve, Mr. Poppers Penguin, Two Weeks Notice and Jersey Girl. Her latest role is in Road Rage – A Bleak Comedy, a film directed by Brad Mays, to be released in 2015.

Rising Design Star Paola Gamero to Show at Couture Fashion Week

Rising Peruvian design star Paola Gamero will present her latest collection at Couture Fashion Week New York during the upcoming 22nd season of the prestigious event. The fashion show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday September 11, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, at the Crossroads of the World.

Paola Gamero’s designs are very feminine and romantic designs with a focus on detailing. The handmade embroidery, jewels, laces and silks featured in her creations are inspired by her experiences in Europe and are designed to highlight the natural delicacy of women.

Ms. Gamero studied Business Administration at the University of Lima, Peru. Her personal taste for fashion motivated her travel to Milan, where she studied Fashion Design as well as Fashion Image and Fashion Styling and Production at the Marangoni Institute and where she worked as a backstage assistant at Milan Fashion Week S/S 2013. She also earned her certification as a Fashion Events Planner from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

One of the world-class performers scheduled to perform at the 22nd Season of Couture Fashion Week New York is Karla Sax, a dynamic saxophone artist. Playing at top Vancouver and international venues, Karla Sax is one of those rare female saxophone players. She provides the right vibe, be it innovative jazz and contemporary saxophone sounds over electronic house, deep house, top 40, lounge, chill out or world music. Her exquisite sound captures the subtleties of a voice and creates beautiful dulcet tones. Project Runway Vietnam Winner Ly Giam Tien to Show at Couture Fashion Week NY

Rising design star Ly Giam Tien will show his latest collection at Couture Fashion Week New York during the prestigious event’s 21st season. The highly anticipated fashion show will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple. The show will include appearances by several recent Vietnam’s Next Top Model winners.

Ly Giam Tien is the winner of Project Runway Vietnam 2014 as well as the youngest design talent of the show. Surmounting tough challenges with intense resilience, he finally won the championship in the exciting finale. The 18 year old designer has overcome challenges in his personal life as well, with a rough childhood that included making a living as a snack vendor, mason and tailor. Thanks to those experiences, Ly Giam Tien is independent and fiercely determined to overcome any obstacles to achieve his dreams. Although the young designer has no formal training in the field, his passion for fashion, unique creativity, optimism and innate talent impressed the fashion luminaries during the cut-throat competition. The collection he showcased during the season finale was inspired by Paris and its splendid architecture, and was distinguished by impeccable tailoring, fresh designs and decorative flair. Ly Giam Tien is a proud discovery of the show and he is moving forward to broaden his design career into international heights.

A few months after winning the Project Runway Vietnam competition, Ly Giam Tien presented his “Optical Illusion” collection at Vietnam International Fashion Week 2014. It was enthusiastically received by fashion professionals both nationally and internationally, including fashion luminary Emily Hwang, vice president of the Asia Couture Federation. In January 2015 Ly Giam Tien presented a new collection, “Origin”, inspired by the beauty and temperature of the human body. The collection was showcased in the Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2014 finale that was broadcast live on VTV3, the national channel with millions of viewers.

Ly Giam Tien was voted Breakthrough Designer by Men’s Culture and Sport Magazine in 2014, and was also named as a potential face poised to make a breakthrough in 2015 by Forbes Magazine.

Designer Matthew Cashe Brings Celebrity Style to Couture Fashion Week

Award-winning designer Matthew Cashe will present his latest stunning collection on the runway at Couture Fashion Week New York’s 21st season. Marking the designer’s first appearance at CFW, the show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday February 13, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in the heart of the city.

Talented designer Matthew Cashe’s love for fashion started at age 12. After high school, he studied the trade under Master Tailor, Mr. Williams at the Williams Tailoring Establishment, and went on to further studies at The University of the West Indies. After settling in the United States, his career blossomed. Mr. Cashe’s designs have been worn by celebrities such as actors Keke Palmer, Keisha Knight Pulliam and singer Lauryn Hill. Actress/Director Dalia Phillips has been dressed by Mr. Cashe for red carpet events including the 2006 Academy Awards, the premier of the movie Akeelah and the Bee, and the NAACP Awards. His gowns have been worn by actresses in an independent film by filmmaker Michael Gaba, and he has also designed for beauty pageant contestants.

Matthew Cashe has presented his designs at many fashion events throughout the United States, including 7 on 7th Fashion during New York Fashion Week and Virginia Fashion Week, as well as at events in South Beach, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, South Hampton, and Washington DC. He showcased his designs at a fashion show he hosted, and has been featured at Burlington County College’s Fashion Show Extravaganzas. His fabulous designs have also been featured in Mercedes-Benz dealership advertising, and in publications such as Intense magazine, Today’s Black Woman, Grace for Today, and the Chicago Tribune.

In giving back to the community, Matthew Cashe is a mentor for high school students interested in fashion design, among other projects. His designs were recently featured at The African Investment & Development Awards at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.

Designer Andres Aquino Partners with Champions Against Bullying

Models and performers in the upcoming “Blue Rose” by Andres Aquino show at Couture Fashion Week New York.

Andres Aquino will present a special collection entitled “Blue Rose” in the finale to the upcoming 21st season of Couture Fashion Week New York. The show will be held at 8:00 pm on Sunday February 15, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan.

For this event Mr. Aquino has partnered with Champions Against Bullying in their mutual efforts to heighten awareness and support for bullying prevention. Opening the show will be Meredith O’Connor, teen singing sensation and Star Champion Celebrity Spokesperson for Champions Against Bullying. The organization’s recent heartfelt PSA, created by advertising powerhouse Deutsch New York, has received coverage in prestigious media including The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Little Black Book, The Independent, Business Insider, AMC Network, KOMO-TV (Seattle ABC affiliate) and online through various channels where it garnered almost 400,000 views in less than 7 days.

Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to Champions Against Bullying. The organization’s ad will be featured throughout the event along with other Couture Fashion Week sponsors on the huge digital billboard outside the venue in Times Square

Mr. Aquino’s “Blue Rose” collection is chic and elegant, using predominantly black luscious fabrics with touches of blue. It is inspired by one of Mr. Aquino’s poems. Lauren Cooper – From Sao Paulo, Lauren is a fitness guru and Brazilian swimsuit model.

Sydney Trim – An honor roll high school student from Lafayette, Louisiana, Sydney is an aspiring model and makeup artist, and volunteers as an art instructor at a local nursing home.

Alexis Albaugh – Alexis is the current spokesmodel for the Meadow’s Racetrack & Casino, and a 2014 Swimsuit USA International Finalist. She is also a runway and print model, an aspiring actress, and a USA certified gymnastics coach.

Fashion Meets Broadway in “Gotham Nights” by Designer Andres Aquino

Designer Andres Aquino will present his latest collection entitled “Gotham Nights” at Couture Fashion Week New York’s upcoming 21st season. The runway fashion show will be held at 8:00 pm on Valentine’s Day, Saturday February 14, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the city.

“Gotham Nights” is dedicated to the Gotham City Muse, a woman who dwells in a place where cool meets sexy in the city that never sleeps; a poetic place where myriad legends are created every night, and stories are told with beauty, style and gorgeous fashions. Beyond the fashion show, there is art, music, dance and enchantment, hallmarks of the prolific designer’s presentations for many seasons at one of New York Fashion Week’s most prestigious events. The highly anticipated show will be followed by the Valentine’s Ball.

Among the stunning models walking the show will be several winners of the Top Model Vietnam competition.

An array of talented performers are sure to dazzle the audience as part of the show, including:

Leah Danielle – Verissimo soprano and solo concert singer who has performed with legendary tenor Andrea Boccelli and appeared at Carnegie Hall. She sang in her first movie soundtrack for the Universal Studios film Prime, and has performed many operatic roles including Musetta in La Boheme, Liu in Turandot, Contessa in Le Nozze Di Figaro, and Drusilla in L’Incoronazione di Poppea.

Salome Katamadze – Singing sensation from the Republic of Georgia, she is a winner of X Factor and other major European music festivals. She has performed at numerous music events throughout Europe.

Nini DeRossi – Native of the Republic of Georgia, now based in New York, she is the winner of the TV competitions 10 + 10 (Armenia) and X Factor (Greece), as well as being a finalist in Georgia’s Georgian Idol. Her poignant rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You at CFW thrilled the audience.

Stella Matteoni – Singer-songwriter from the South of France, she is a rising star on the European popular music scene.

Panic! The Musical Singers – With their sights set on Broadway, the ensemble performs the songs of the American rock band Panic! At The Disco. The group includes Broadway and off-Broadway entertainers led by Alexis Acar.

Ryan Raffloer and Hanna Sverdlov – A crowd-thrilling, high energy dance duo.

Veronica Iovan and Antonio Abate – Veronica is a talented young soprano who has performed at prestigious events and venues around the world, and is a popular regular performer at CFW. Antonio is a tenor whose extensive repertoire ranges from sacred music to Broadway tunes to classic opera. The duet will perform a Broadway classic at the “Gotham Nights” show.

Andres Aquino is producer and founder of Couture Fashion Week New York, as well as a poet, writer, designer, business entrepreneur, and above all entertainer, who loves to dazzle his audiences by taking fashion shows beyond conventional industry standards into the realm of Broadway-style theatrical productions.

Exquisite Details Shine in the Latest Collection by Barli Asmara

Renowned Indonesian designer Barli Asmara will present his latest impeccable collection at the upcoming season of Couture Fashion Week in New York City. The runway show will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday February 14, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square.

Barli Asmara discovered his passion for art and fashion at an early age. Following his dream, he launched his signature label in 2002, producing high-end ready-to-wear and couture womenswear. Today his designs include couture, bridal and business wear, as well as menswear.

Mr. Asmara’s beautiful and distinctive designs have garnered many accolades and awards including AMICA Young Talented Designer Award, ELLE Designer of The Year, Bazaar Wedding, one of the Best 20 Designers for High End Masterpiece, Kartika Magazine’s Best Designer of The Year, as well as one of Dewi Magazine’s best Indonesia Fashion Designers of 2008. Mr. Asmara served as designer for the 2011 Puteri Indonesia pageant and for the winner, Nadine Alexandra, when she went on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant. He was part of Indonesia’s DKI Jakarta Dinas Pariwisata delegation at the Melbourne Festival, and a participating designer in multiple editions of the Rumah Pesona Kain fashion event, as well as the International Textiles and Costume Congress in 2011. He has shown his collections at prestigious fashion events including Jakarta Fashion Week, Indonesia Fashion Week, Mazda Marie Claire Fashion Show, and Bazaar Movie Textra, to name just a few. He is a member of IPMI (Ikatan Perancang Mode Indonesia, the Indonesian Fashion Designers Association).

Barli Asmara is dedicated to representing the beauty and richness of Indonesian handcrafts and classic artisan techniques in his collections which are known for the their exquisite detailing. He is known for his skillful use of beads, pearls, jewels, fringe and feathers as alluring fashion details, along with macramé, smocking, and embroidery.
