A native of Ecuador, now residing in New York, Laura Santana has always had a deep passion for fashion and design. She became a successful fashion model at age 18 and went on to pursue a career in fashion design, opening several boutiques under her flagship brand, Laura S. Her own life experiences as a family-oriented wife and mother, entrepreneur and avant-garde business woman, along with strong influences from customs and traditions, all are expressed in her distinctive designs. Earlier in 2015 Ms. Santana showed her designs at Dominican Republic Fashion Week to rave reviews.

Renowned Soprano Elisabetta Russo Set to Perform at Couture Fashion Week

Singer Elisabetta RussoRenowned soprano Elisabetta Russo will perform at Couture Fashion Week New York for the first time during the event’s upcoming 22nd season. Ms. Russo will perform during the Andres Aquino fashion show at 8:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015, as well as before the 4:00 pm fashion show on Sunday September 13, 2015. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, at the “Crossroads of the World.”

A native of Bari, Italy, Ms. Russo received a Bachelor’s degree in singing and a Master’s degree with highest honors in singing specializing in chamber music from the “S. Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Rome. She attended master classes with Edda Moser, Renata Scotto, Renato Bruson and Alberto Zedda. A winner of many important contests, Ms. Russo has performed in Italy and abroad and has collaborated with many acclaimed conductors and composers. Among the most important roles she has played are Norina in Don Pasquale by Donizetti, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte by Mozart, Tonina in Prima la musica poi le parole by Salieri, Gilda in Rigoletto by Verdi, and Nannetta in Falstaff (starring Renato Bruson) by Verdi. In 2011 she won “Best Female Vocal” at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. She has recorded Brise de Mér, Leoncavallo’s arias for voice and orchestra on the Suoneria Mediterranea label, with the direction of Luigi De Filippi. In 2013 she opened for Andrea Bocelli at Paramount Studios, performing with David Foster and Eugene Kohn, and performed at the Ann and Moss Theatre in Santa Monica with Maestro Andrea Morricone and the Amor Symphonic Orchestra. In 2014, together with pianist Giulia Spinedi, she won first prize in the Chamber Music section of the XVII International Competition V. Scaramuzza. As winner of the Beverly Hills recital series in 2014/2015, she performed at prestigious venues in the City of Beverly Hills. Currently she is writing for the Italo-Americano newspaper as Opera reviewer. Recent performances include a concert in Toronto for the Italian National Day Celebration at Casa Loma Castle in May 2015. For her appearance at the Couture Fashion Week New York soprano Elisabetta Russo will wear a Mark Belford gown.

Upcoming designer label DiDomenico Designs will present its latest collection during the prestigious Couture Fashion Week New York event. The runway show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the city that never sleeps.

DiDomenico Designs was founded in 2009 by Kelsy Dominick as a custom brand that was carried only in boutiques in Blacksburg, Virginia. As the curator of designs for the brand, Ms. Dominick mixes cultural inspirations into special occasion wear in a timeless approach. Ms. Dominick’s artistry is focused on the custom bespoke side of couture, catering to the exacting demands of her clients.

DiDomenico Design’s latest collection is entitled “Virtuous”, inspired by the Bible’s interpretation of the virtuous woman. The detail, beading and embellishment invoke the reflection of beauty that each woman carries within her… for her price is above rubies and her clothing is silk and purple. Singer Vicky Shu to Perform at Couture Fashion Week New York

Singer Vicky ShuSinger Vicky Shu is set to perform during the Andres Aquino fashion show at Couture Fashion Week in New York. Part of the 22nd season of the prestigious event, the show will be held at 8:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015.

Vicky Shu is a well-known celebrity in her native Indonesia, noted for her golden voice as well as her proficiency on the guitar and piano. She was a finalist for Miss Indonesia 2007, and is also an accomplished actress, currently finishing a movie in Turkey. She is a former backup singer for the popular Indonesian band Yovie and Nuno. As a soloist, she released an album entitled Drink Me, and recently released her new album which includes six of her own original compositions.

In addition to her musical and acting endeavors, Vicky Shu is also a footwear entrepreneur, designing her own line of beautiful and elegant shoes under the label Shu Shu. Her shoe designs are now hitting the international market, being exported to Italy and Amsterdam in Europe as well as Japan and Malaysia in Asia. Based in Indonesia, Ms. Hasibuan has always had a passion and flair for fashion. After designing business and formal clothes for herself, she found that many friends and clients loved her creations, and encouraged her to launch her own boutique. Her fashion design career has since taken off, and in 2015 she realized a long time dream when she showed her designs at London Fashion Week with a collection entitled “Glitzvaganza”, as well as at the “Hello Indonesia” event in Trafalgar Square in London with a collection called “Sradhha” (which means “Belief”). Ms. Hasibuan was delighted to participate in the London events as a means to increase international attention for her designs. She has also shown at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta to rave reviews.

Anniesa Hasibuan’s designs often feature fine silk, velvet and brocade and other traditional Indonesian fabrics embellished with her signature touches of sequined stones and beautiful pearls. Her show in New York will include accessories by Surabaya designer Grace Liem.

Designer Lainy Gold Returns to Couture Fashion Week with Tribal Earth Collection

Lainy Gold’s new collection is entitled “Tribal Earth”, filled with reflections of nature and celebrating the body. Included are swimwear designs, coverup dresses as well as some menswear. Notable features are Aztec prints along with denims and natural fabrics like cottons and linens. The presentation of the collection will include hand made jewelry also created by Lainy Gold, as well as distinctive headdresses, celebrating the designer’s vision of nature in its rawest, truest form.

“My inspiration for this collection came from a piece of music I stumbled upon that had tribal drum beats throughout,” says Ms. Gold. “This will be a show filled with my vision that came from this music.. It’s strong, powerful, sensual and emotional.”

A native of Canada with a French mother and British father, Lainy Gold started designing at a young age, and went on to be a model for 15 years, surrounded by designers, immersed in the fashion world of showrooms, fittings and photo shoots. She presented her inaugural collection at Atlantic City Fashion Week, and has experience designing menswear, swimwear, children’s fashions, bridal designs, accessories and headpieces, as well as competitive dance outfits, along with her distinctive womenswear designs.

In addition to being a talented fashion designer, Lainy Gold is also an accomplished photographer and actress. Her photographic work has appeared in numerous print magazines and calendars. As an actress, she has appeared in such TV shows as Law and Order, Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods and films including New Year’s Eve, Mr. Poppers Penguin, Two Weeks Notice and Jersey Girl. Her latest role is in Road Rage – A Bleak Comedy, a film directed by Brad Mays, to be released in 2015.
