Designer Lainy Gold to Show “Fragile” Collection at Couture Fashion Week

Lainy Gold fashion show at Couture Fashion Week NYDesigner Lainy Gold will return to Couture Fashion Week New York with the showing of her latest collection entitled “Fragile.” The fashion show will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday February 14, 2016 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, 1605 Broadway, New York City. It will be part of Couture Fashion Week’s 23rd season, and marks Lainy Gold’s third show at the event.

Lainy Gold’s latest collection, “Fragile,” is the story of a woman’s struggle growing up and how she has blossomed into a very strong independent women . She is caring and delicate on the outside but powerful and strong on the inside. Her struggles have helped her appreciate life’s gifts. Ms. Gold celebrates the transformation from this challenging childhood through this inspired collection. The presentation starts very quietly, reserved and delicate, and ends with strength and power. Lainy Gold’s creativity comes through in this eclectic gathering of Art in Fashion. She considers design to be her lifeline, her air and how she breathes.

Ms. Gold is also a published photographer and has started to incorporate her love of art through fashion and photography in her work. Her designs and photos have been featured on numerous magazine covers and editorial pages. She is also an accomplished actress and has appeared in such TV shows as Law and Order, Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods, and films including New Year’s Eve, Mr. Poppers Penguin, Two Weeks Notice and Jersey Girl. Her latest role is in Road Rage – A Bleak Comedy, a film directed by Brad Mays.

Alexandra Popescu-York Returns to Couture Fashion Week with “Unleashed” Collection

Alexandra Popescu-York fashion show at Couture Fashion Week NYAcclaimed artist-designer Alexandra Popescu-York will make her fifth appearance at Couture Fashion Week New York with the showing of her latest collection entitled “Unleashed.” A regular favorite of CFW audiences, Ms. Popescu-York’s fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday February 14, 2016 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple.

“Unleashed” is a splendidly rich Fall-Winter 2016 collection of garments and accessories with a glamorous avant-garde look that is as edgy and unique as the emblematic New Yorker. The collection features one-of-a-kind intricately detailed pieces of clothing, jewelery and handbags made of select, finely embroidered fabrics. It is a collection for the woman whose presence is a statement that captures the eye and soul at first sight and remains the center of everyone’s attention until the end.

In addition to her fashion show, Ms. Popescu-York will also have a three-day exhibit of her paintings during Couture Fashion Week, February 12-14, 2016. Both her fashion collection and the art she will exhibit are inspired by the vibrancy of New York City.

Romanian-born, New York City-based designer and artist Alexandra Popescu-York (also known as Alexandra Suciu in her roles as wife and mother) has fast emerged on the global stage of visual arts and the fashion industry. She has garnered numerous accolades, with the most recent being the inclusion of her paintings in the United Nations’ 70th anniversary international art exhibition. Ms. Popescu-York’s humanitarian efforts have earned her the title of “Ambassador of Good Hearts and Romanian Culture”.

Ms. Popescu-York’s creations are characterized by each piece’s exquisitely symbolic depiction of carefully selected themes. Recent themes include “Âme de l’artiste” (soul of the artist), “Phoenix – The Legend”, “Metropolitan” (inspired by art, history and civilization highlights from the Metropolitan Museum of Art), and “GranD’Or”, a collection based on Ms. Popescu-York’s own artistic creations. In recent years, four of Alexandra Popescu-York’s monumental paintings, including the renowned “New York– Past, Present and Future” tryptic, were designated as background pieces for shows by Couture Fashion Week producer and designer Andres Aquino, an admirer and supporter of Ms. Popescu-York’s creations.

Rising Pop Star Dominika Stara Set to Perform at Couture Fashion Week NY

Singer Dominika StaraRising pop star Dominika Stara is set to perform at the next Couture Fashion Week New York. Part of the prestigious event’s 23rd season, Ms. Stara will perform as part of the fashion shows at 8:00 pm on Saturday February 13, and at 6:00 pm on Sunday February 14, 2016. Shows are held in the Broadway Ballroom of the the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple.

In 2009, Dominika Stara beat out thousands of hopefuls and landed a spot on Czechoslovakian Superstar, her country’s version of American Idol. Dominika took first place for the women, third overall and she never looked back. With over 79,000 Facebook fans, Dominika has won the hearts of countless people worldwide. She recently signed a production agreement with Poncini Entertainment, and has recorded and released her debut EP. Her runaway hit Thinking Of You earned her an award for Best R&B Female at the New England Urban Music Awards. Dominika parallels her style of music to an Ipod. “Nobody has just one style of music on their Ipod. I listen to all kinds of music, so my album reflects that,” says Dominika.

Since arriving in the USA, Dominika has been very busy. She has been visiting schools in the New England area speaking to students on the importance of education, and positive influences in relation to pursuing their dreams. Her goal is to inspire the youth to accomplish their goals by instilling the value of staying focused and driven.

At Couture Fashion Week, Dominika will be performing her new single Can’t Buy My Love from her forthcoming EP My Time To Shine on Poncini distributed by VPAL.

Anniesa Hasibuan Returns to Couture Fashion Week with Breathtaking “PearlAsia” Collection

Anniesa Hasibuan fashion show at Couture Fashion Week NYIndonesian design star Anniesa Hasibuan will return to Couture Fashion Week New York with the showing of her latest collection entitled “PearlAsia.” Marking the designer’s second appearance at the prestigious event, the highly-anticipated fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday February 13, 2016 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, 1605 Broadway, New York City. The show will be opened with a performance by Indonesian singing sensation Natalie Zenn.

The island’s pearls are known as the “South Sea Pearl.” The pearls of Lombok are very special both in beauty and quality, and the pearl has also been symbol of elegance for centuries. Anniesa Hasibuan’s latest collection, “PearlAsia” can be interpreted as the pearl of Asia / Indonesia. The designs feature a royal theme inspired by the timeless Queen figure in kingdom fairy tales. Graceful silhouettes and soft colored fabrics are combined with a range of pastel colors and make up, accented with a combination of creative veils, or hijabs.

The Nepal showcase at Couture Fashion Week New York will include around a dozen prominent companies in such industries as tourism, fabrics, art and handicrafts. Visitors to the event are welcome to stop by the exhibits on Friday February 12 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, February 13 and 14 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Diana Couture presented a breathtaking collection entitled “Garuda” at Couture Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by the Garuda bird, symbol of the official philosophical foundation of the Indonesian state. Ms. Putri’s artistry is focused on the custom bespoke side of couture, catering to the exacting demands of her clients. She is known for her distinctive use of both elegant and daring concepts balanced in couture designs. Diana Putri herself is an A-list designer in Surabaya, Indonesia, and she is now looking to expand to a more global market.

Based in Puerto Rico, Ms. Rodriguez graduated from the island’s Institute of Fashion Merchandising and has over 20 years of fashion and accessories design experience. She has worked as a designer with K-Love Fashion and has over a decade of experience designing for numerous celebrities and beauty queens in Puerto Rico. Ms. Rodriguez’s creations for both men and women, are beautiful, elegant and unique, inspired by her devotion to God. She has presented her designs at many fashion events including Puerto Rico South Fashion Week and the Gotitas de Amor por Haiti benefit show. Ms. Rodriguez is currently working to expand her market reach to New York and California.
