Designer Patuna Bushyhead Returns to CFW with Sumptuous Collection

Designer Patuna Bushyhead will return to Couture Fashion Week New York with a highly- anticipated presentation of her latest collection at 4:00 pm on Sunday September 7, 2014. The fashion show will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, 1605 Broadway, at the “Crossroads of the World.” The show will be opened by a performance from singer Nini DeRossi, a regular favorite at Couture Fashion Week.

Patuna creates a range of pret-a-porter and haute couture designs. Frequent use of beads, crystals, Swarovski and precious stones can be seen in her “signature” items. The designer is often inspired by the age of elegance, reflecting 1950’s tailoring and silhouettes. She believes in creating designs that complement and enhance the feminine form, and likes to use sumptuous, flowing fabrics combined with a sophisticated approach to draping. Read more…

Atlanta-Based Couturier Nina Gleyzer Blends ’50s Chic Simplicity with French Opulence for Spring 2015

Award-winning veteran couturier Nina Gleyzer will make her fourth appearance at Couture Fashion Week New York with the presentation of her latest collection “Nostalgie: Le Fin Mot”. The collection will be accessorized with head pieces by Natalya Bythewood. The fashion show will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday September 6, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square.

As this is Nina Gleyzer’s final runway appearance, she designed a couture farewell collection inspired by her two loves: France, and ’50s fashion. Capturing an era-gone-by, this collection reflects a time when women sat in front of perfume-filled vanities to paint their faces and powder their noses, before dressing up in beautifully tailored dresses for coffee with friends.  “That’s how I envision women: chic, elegant… simplistic,” says Nina. “Nostaligie: Le Fin Mot” pays homage to the ’50s woman with a nod to French grandeur through the use of rich fabrication and exquisite pattern making. Andres Aquino’s “Femme Jolie” Collection is Dedicated to Petite Fashionistas

This season Andres Aquino will present two totally different fashion shows dedicated to two different sets of women at the prestigious New York event: “Mon Amour” a couture collection to be shown at 8:00 pm on Saturday February 15, 2014, and the “Femme Jolie” collection for petite women.

Amritraj Bora is a fashion designer from New Delhi and a rising star among the multitude of fashion talents rapidly putting India on the global fashion map. His distinctive designs reflect a love for nostalgia, a glance into the future and eventually a fascination towards the many nuances of the progressively decadent woman. Amritraj was trained at the export fashion houses where he worked for Prada, Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Allsaint and other European high fashion brands. He launched his own label in 2012.

Amritraj was chosen by the Ponds Femina Miss India as the finale gown designer for Miss Earth 2012, and in 2013 he served as the finale gown designer for Miss World and Miss Heritage World. Ikali Sukhalu‘s creations are a fusion of modern influences and Naga ethnic wear. Her latest collection is inspired by the rich weaving traditions of the tribes of Nagaland and the legendary silks of Assam. The collection blends these two distinct weaving traditions creating pieces that have relevance outside the cultural mould. Alexandra Popescu-York earned her Bachelor’s degree in Plastic and Decorative Arts from the prestigious National University of Arts in her native Bucharest, Romania. Her distinctive creations are emotional, vivid and symbolic. Combining her design work in the fashion industry with a true passion for painting, Popescu-York created a style uniquely her own, a bridge between fashion and art.

In addition to her fashion show on February 16, Ms. Popescu-York will be exhibiting her artwork at throughout the Couture Fashion Week event, February 14-16, 2014.
