The latest collection by Yasmine Studio will be presented at Couture Fashion Week New York at 4:00 pm on Friday February 14, 2014. The fashion show will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the New Yorker Hotel, in the city’s Fashion District.

Yasmine, the creative force behind Yasmine Studio, is inspired by a myriad of cultural influences. Born in Germany, her Moroccan father and French-Greek mother kindled a love of different cultures and nature’s beauty within her at an early age. Having lived in Germany, Morocco, France, Brazil and the USA, Yasmine now designs fine clothing in Nepal, amidst the Himalayas, her home for many years.

A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Yasmine has been designing for over three decades. Based in Kathmandu, she directs a small atelier of highly skilled tailors whom she has personally trained. Yasmine is also actively involved with the Dhaka Weave Co-operative, a Nepali women’s craft organization, sharing her design expertise and assisting with product development.

A nomad at heart, Yasmine finds travel has enhanced her search for exquisite fabrics, such as Japanese kimonos, one-of-a-kind, classic, Indian saris, Chinese brocades, fine silks and natural textiles. Her unique gift for blending these varied design influences is visible in all her original creations.

Fine attention to finishing and couture details distinguishes Yasmine’s creations. Whether designing or accessorizing her collections, or sharing ideas and innovations with her tailoring team, her artistic expression focuses on excellence in every aspect of her work. Often creating made-to-order garments for women, men and children, Yasmine has a sophisticated and joyful approach to design. Quality, attention to detail and her innate blending of colors and textures, – inspired by nature – define her designing skill as a rare and harmonious fusion.
