Sumbul Rizvi's Latest Collection at Couture Fashion Week New York Focuses on Feminine Perfection
Up-and-coming award-winning fashion designer Sumbul Rizvi will present the latest collection under her flagship label "Sumbul's Collection" at the next Couture Fashion Week in New York. Part of the “Jewel of India” collective fashion show, the event will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday September 16, 2012 in the legendary Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria.
A native of Pakistan who grew up in Muscat and Dubai, Ms. Rizvi now calls New Jersey home. She has presented her designs in multiple countries and is the recipient of numerous fashion awards. Her recent career highlights in the USA include showing her designs at the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation Fashion Show, showing at Plitzs during NY Fashion Week, participating the the “Runway Princess” fashion show in NY where the winning model was crowned wearing a Sumbul creation, and being awarded first prize as “Best International Designer” at an event held at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City in 2011. Internationally Ms. Rizvi has presented her work in Asia, including at an event at Karachi’s Pearl Continental Hotel where she was was awarded first prize.
Sumbul’s Collection focuses on the perfection and personality of women. The one-of-a-kind designs are characterized by innovative color combinations, use of fabric, patterns and embroidery in a glamorous blend of East and West with an eye towards comfort and durability.
