Week, Spanish designer Isabel Zapardiez will
present her latest collection
at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday September 15, 2012
in the iconic Grand Ballroom of the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria
in New York City.
In her latest collection Isabel Zapardiez invites us into a fantasy
world full of her fantastical visions for women and brides. The
designer is marking her 10th anniversary as a bridalwear designer in
2012. To celebrate, she is offering an up-to-date synthesis of her
most emblematic creations and the recurrent themes that inspire her,
such as the oriental world, vintage appliqué, and classic names such
as Balenciaga. The designs feature a fusion of the aesthetics that
inspire her, her interests and her view of the world. It is the first
time she will be showing a mixed collection on the catwalk, presenting
both bridalwear and party dresses.
Ms. Zapardiez's creations are enchanting and feminine, full of her signature cosmopolitan style. Her collection draws on different worlds, ever faithful to her idea that there are as many styles as there are brides. She shows us visions of nymphs and fairies, and glamorous, expressive women.
Ms. Zapardiez has embodied this source of inspiration in several of
her pieces, where delicate silhouettes are the predominant feature.
Bridal and party dresses are easily shown together, highlighting the
concept that it is the attitude and personality of each woman that
determines how each dress is interpreted.
As for fabric, the designer's use of appliqué and mikado contrasts
with the subtle and ethereal aspect of the muslin, satin, organza,
tulle and chiffon, which are sometimes combined with feathers that
move with the piece.
Subtle, sophisticated women with a distinct personality that fills the
