German Designer Marco Marcu to Present Language of Flowers Collection at Couture Fashion Week New York Award-winning German designer Marco Marcu will show his latest collection entitled "The Language of Flowers" at Couture Fashion Week at 6:00 p.m. on Friday September 10, 2010. The fashion show will be held in the renowned Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria on Park Avenue, New York City. Mr. Marcu burst on the European fashion scene with a stunning presentation at the Enkamania Fashion Awards in 1998. He went on to open his own signature design studio and retail boutique. He has shown his creations on runways from Frankfurt and Berlin to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He has designed spectacular gowns for many beauty queens and is the official fashion designer for Miss World and Miss Germany 2009 through 2011. Komen For the Cure® In its tradition of support for charity organizations, Couture Fashion Week New York has announced that it is partnering with the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® at its next fashion event. Couture Fashion Week will be held 10-12 September 2010 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on New York's Park Avenue. The Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® was founded in 1990 by friends of the late television journalist Benita Feurey — friends committed to keeping her memory alive by providing breast health education, screening, treatment, and other services to individuals in the five boroughs of New York City, on Long Island, and in Westchester and Rockland Counties. Since its inception, Komen Greater NYC has raised over $50 million. Seventy-five percent of net monies raised supports local breast health education, screening and treatment programs; twenty-five percent goes to national peer-reviewed research to find the cures. In 2009, Komen Greater NYC awarded nearly $4 million in grants related to breast cancer prevention, screening, research and support. Red Carpet Collection by Designer Andres Aquino to Feature an Array of International Performers at the Waldorf-Astoria Designer and fashion show producer Andres Aquino will present his latest collection entitled "Red Carpet" as part of the upcoming season of Couture Fashion Week. The runway show is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday September 12, 2009 in the Starlight Roof of the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria, New York City. The fashion show will be followed by the Couture Fashion Week Ball. Mr. Aquino's Spring collection is divided into two parts and filled with wonderful surprises.
