Catalin Botezatu Brings Latest Collection Inspired by Russian Tsarinas to Couture Fashion Week
Top European fashion designer, Catalin Botezatu will return to the CFW runway in New York City with his latest much-anticipated fashion show. The event will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Waldorf-Astoria's Grand Ballroom.
Mr. Botezatu's latest couture collection is entitled "Tsarina" and is inspired by the elegance of Russian tsardom. The ensembles will be presented in a dramatic runway show directed by the designer. The stunning collection took two months to create, and the show takes over eight hours to prepare. The designs feature hand embroidery, heavy rich fabrics, and fine brocades as well as touches of mink and chinchilla, reminiscent of the opulence and exclusivity of the Russian imperial era.
A prolific and energetic fashion icon, Catalin Botezatu has done runway shows all over the globe. He is also a famous media and television personality in his native Romania, appearing on The Bachelor and as host of Romania's Next Top Model.

Patuna Bushyhead spent her childhood studying and performing ballet, acting, folkloric dance, classical piano, painting, and pantomime. As a teenager she served as host of two nationally broadcast TV programs in Georgia. At age 16 she entered the Tbilisi State Institute to study gynecology, and later switched her field of study to dentistry, graduating top of her class as a doctor of dental surgery. While there, she designed numerous productions which were staged in Los Angeles and Moscow. After earning a degree in business in his native Beirut, Jack Guisso went on to follow in his father's footsteps as a couture fashion designer. Along with his three brothers Mr. Guisso opened his first atelier in 1975 and the fashions were sold under the "Les Amis" label at their own boutique as well as at eleven other stores throughout Lebanon. In 1996 Mr. Guisso launched his own haute couture line under the "Sarafia" label. His breathtaking and feminine evening gowns of the finest fabrics, hand embroidery and meticulous craftsmanship soon became favorites of Middle Eastern celebrities and socialites. He has since shown his collections on runways from Paris and Spain to Italy and the USA. Since its inception, Komen Greater NYC has raised over $50 million. In 2009, Komen Greater NYC awarded nearly $4 million in grants related to breast cancer prevention, screening, research and support. After earning her degree in fashion and interior design from the LebaneseAmerican University, Amal launched her own collection in Beirut in 2004, a city synonymous with luxury couture style and home to such fashion icons as Elie Saab, Georges Chakra and Georges Hobeika.
